The Foundation Master Class
Learn the basics and a whole lot more
No experience? No problem.
The Foundation Master Class has been created especially for those with absolutely no experience, but with a desire to learn.
Master Craftsman Michael Rievley will teach you everything you need to know to complete your first leaded panel, and we don’t mean a sun-catcher! This is an honest-to-goodness, weather grade, leaded stained glass window panel.
Students will choose from our selection of beginners’ patterns. In a single day, we will teach about cutting glass, stretching and assembling lead, basic lead-working techniques, soldering joints, puttying, and finishing in a zinc frame. Students will leave with a 12 inch x 12 inch stained glass panel they built themselves, access to an online video version of the course, and a few other bonus gifts.
The best part is that no purchase of tools, supplies, or materials is required.
Just show up with your ambition and a pair of comfortable, closed-toe shoes and we’ll show you the rest.

All instructors at Wabi-Sabi Workshops have an extensive background in restoration and new construction. Through decades of experience, our instructors have seen what happens to an inferior build. That’s why, at Wabi-Sabi Workshops, we say “Close enough is not a standard.”
Whether building stained glass is something you’ve always aspired to do, or this is a newfound interest, now is the time and Wabi-Sabi Workshops is the place to begin. Ensure you start off on the right foot and avoid forming bad habits. Building stained glass with integrity can be the difference in your panel lasting 15 years or 75 years.
With focus and attention to detail, Wabi-Sabi Workshops instructors provide step-by-step guidance and training so that everyone can be successful in creating a build that will last for generations.
